Megadeth
CLICK HERE for pics of Megadeth’s performance at the KBPI Birthday Bash / Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival!
This years line up for Mayhem is insane! This is the first festival where I wanted to see every band on the line up perform. One of those must see bands for me was Megadeth! I have seen these guys play all over the United States at many different venue’s, and it’s always the same thing of kick ass riffs and guitar solo’s at high volumes! Even their crazy unplugged acoustic performance in the KBPI studio back in 2001 was kick ass riffs and guitar solo’s at high volumes!
Megadeth’s performance didn’t disappoint, they even give a Dave Mustaine’s guitar away in the middle of the set! Dave basically hands the lucky winner the guitar off his back! Check out the Mayhem Fest website for details on this insanity!
As the festival was wrapping up, I was back stage waiting for Disturbed to hit the stage and out walks Megadeth’s bass player Dave Ellefson wearing the OTR-WML t-shirt! It was so badass to see this. I had a chance early that day to talk with Dave about his favorite record store experience and to let him check out the book and the details of the project. This was one of the most coolest and down to earth people you could meet. I’m very thankful to see such a great musician supporting the project, and wearing the t-shirt!

Yeah, these are definitely some of the best Megadeth pictures I’ve ever seen live or offstage. Your a great photographer and Megadeth should feel honored that you were able to capture them in all there glory standing up on stage catching them doing what they do best–Playing great music and entertaining people on a huge scale by delivering these performances flawlessly. Much in the way that you feel as a fan of Megadeth. On that thought, I have to thank you for posting these pictures. For me as not only a fan of Megadeth, but as a fan of Dave Mustaine as a musician and as a person it was really cool for me to look at these pictures and see a person who is truly happy. After knowing all the troubles hes had in his lifetime with addiction among other things–some of which I can relate to–then reading his biography, hearing and reading every interview I find and seeing pictures like the ones you took; It really is a reminder to me that things always get better. So–Thank you Dave Mustaine for not only ALWAYS making kickass music from day one, but for being an inspiration and teaching me a very important lesson on life and acting as a reminder, whether he meant to or not; and Thank you Rob Fenn for the reminder as well. These really are great pictures.
